Pressed-in silicon bronze sleeve increases contact area of poppet stem for added stability. The smaller diameter hole provides closer tolerance. Sleeve is fluted to allow flushing of any foreign debris. Sleeve and poppet are of identical material, reducing electrolysis worries.
